Chess Vs. Magic

Chess versus Magic

It’s 3pm on a Wednesday. A day most of the guys in the group call “guys night” to their non-Magic playing buddies. Some do let their other friends know with a defensive overtone that they are in fact going to play what just might be the second nerdiest thing you can do besides delve into the MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) world. It’s time to touch base on this delicate subject. If you said you were going to friends house to play chess and drink some wine, people would say.. this cat is sophisticated, a little left of straight but sophisticated none the less. There is a large stigma that surrounds Magic, such as the overweight, lives with parents, introvert, ubergeek that would rather masturbate to a lady action figure after an intense battle with one of her girlfriend action figures that talk to a real girl let alone leave the basement of star wars collectibles and Marvel memorabilia. Although there are a few of those around, the majority of players are successful and intelligent people in their late twenty’s and early thirties. I myself am a very outgoing entrepreneur that lives an active lifestyle and enjoy a challenge. The reason for the name of the post is a friend of mine that plays Magic compared it to chess. The object of the game is the same, except you can’t see all of the other players pieces, which in this game are constantly changing and vary from deck to deck and player to player. So make fun if you must, but know that your brain would hurt trying to figure out this ever changing and complex game. Feel free to post your thought on this one, good or bad we would love to hear what you have to say.
